Martha Olech (Haarlem, 1995)

The question I ask myself is how we can heal from the past, how the more-than-human-world can help us do that and what we can learn from it. Part of our perception of the world has to do with our feelings, where we come from and what memories we possess. Exploring this can create more connectedness.

My work is an attempt to make the intangible visible. In my research, I start from archival material, consisting of images and objects that have a link to the past. By then working experimentally and intuitively, I reflect on the material, my thoughts and feelings. In my work, fiction and reality are intertwined, this translates our subjective view of the world.
